Weld Wheels, racing manufacturers of custom aftermarket rims since 1967

Weld Racing Wheels was founded in 1967 by Greg Weld, a 23 year old USAC National Sprint Car Champion. Greg began manufacturing Weld racing wheels for his brother, Kenny's Sprint Cars. The Weld Family has an extensive racing tradition; from Greg's father and his brothers Jerry and Kenny, and later in sons Taylor and Brock.

The experience Greg accumulated during his racing career would serve him well in the continuing development of Weld Racing Wheels. This knowledge, combined with a keen sense of style, a natural aptitude for engineering and an insatiable curiosity fueled the growth of the company.

As traditional ruling markets reached their full potential, Weld Racing Wheels turned its attention to new, untapped areas. This led to the development of Cold Forged Billet Aluminum wheels for Street Rods, Sport Trucks, Heavy Duty 4x4 Trucks and a wide variety of Custom Street applications.

With this broadening of the Weld Wheels product line came the necessity to accelerate the development process. Over the last 3 years new equipment was installed: sophisticated CAD/CAM systems, over 30 CNC machines, heat-treating equipment, state-of-the-art welding equipment, and sophisticated high-tonnage forging systems to augment an already outstanding array of manufacturing equipment and Weld Racing Magnum PRO Drag Wheel shown systems. Today, Weld Racing has design flexibility that is unsurpassed in the entire international wheel industry. A new design can be taken from concept, to drawing board, to computer program, to working prototype in four days.

Today, Weld Wheels performs virtually all manufacturing operations "In-House" in its 250,000 square foot aftermarket wheels manufacturing facility. It is indisputably the largest aftermarket custom wheel manufacturer of aluminum and magnesium racing wheels in the United States; and quite possibly, the world. However, Greg Weld and his superb team will not sit on their laurels. New technologies are being investigated, new markets will be approached and new challenges will be met.

Weld Wheels became a leader in American industry through foresight, dedication and determination.

Weld Wheels is committed to the philosophy of producing cutting edge designs and world class quality. Each year we will endeavor to create new custom wheel designs, and will continue to examine and employ new technologies in custom wheel manufacturing.

In Motorsports, Weld Wheels has always strived to achieve unsurpassed excellence in every product it manufactures. Its oval track racing wheels have for years dominated the competition in sprint car, midget, and late model dirt track racing.

Over the last three years, Weld Racing has developed a revolutionary forged three-piece aftermarket aluminum wheel that has become the industry standard for NHRA Top-Fuel and Funny-Car racing. Racers like John Force, Gary Scelzi and more recently Kenny Bernstein and Warren Johnson have all switched to more technically advanced wheels manufactured by Weld Racing.

In the very near future, Weld Racing will produce and introduce the first forged one-piece aluminum wheel for Indy cars (IRL and CART) and it will be 100% manufactured in America. It will be lighter and stronger than any wheel ever made for and Indy car.

By late 2000, Weld Racing will introduce a brand new steel wheel for NASCAR, and Winston Cup Racing. Because it is technically superior to anything ever offered, many teams will be switching to the new MAGNUM SUPER SPEEDWAY wheel.

It is the desire at Weld to show the world that an American company not only can compete in the international market place, but dominate it. We would like to thank the enthusiast and motorsports communities for their support in helping us achieve these goals. Weld Racing will continue to develop new and exciting products for the performance, custom and racing wheel industries.
