GT - The new three-piece BBS alloy wheel

The three-piece GT BBS alloy wheel is a jewel with the classic look of the Porsche Supercup-series. The modular construction is very similar to the resistant racing wheel. Like all multi-piece BBS alloy wheels, the GT-wheel is repairable, as well. The GT-wheel is manufactured out of special alloys in a unique flow forming process particularely engineered for racing. Under intense pressure, the material structure is compressed to make the wheel lighter and more durable. Already in the development process the BBS racing engineers aimed for the lowest production tolerances according to Formula 1 requirements. This results in minimum unbalanced mass and maximum concentricity.

The ball polishing process is used to compress and harden the wheel surface and gives a shiny appearance. The BBS alloy wheel GT-wheel is joined together with 30 light and high-stressed titanium bolts to meet the requirements of all ambitious drivers. For the first time an antigliss-varnish, developed by BBS Wheels specially for Formula 1, is used for an aftermarket custom wheel. This prevents a rotation of the tyre on the rim. The GT-wheel is available in the sizes 8,5 x 18“ up to 10 x 19“.
