High-tech for the road

All BBS rims and wheels have one thing in common: the decade-long experience in the production of particularly high-quality rims and wheels. Combined with a design that has already been awarded multiple prizes and the most recent technology in the production, BBS products are among the best quality light alloy wheels on the marked. This fact has been proved by various tests in motorsport magazines where the wheels from Schiltach have been on top positions for years concerning weight, concentricity and material strength. "The good test results are particularly due the experience gained through years in all classes of motorsport. A wheel that has proved its quality in the harsh competition on the racetrack is also the best choice for road cars." says Klaus Baumgartner, responsible for marketing and design with BBS.

New models 2001

The rims and wheel types "Challenge" and RZ are the new stars in the BBS programme. The RZ rim comes with its five spoke pairs seems filigree and transparent. With cross-spokes and a deepened cover with a bold silhouette, its appearance is also powerful and sporty. The "Challenge" or CH wheel comes directly from the racetrack. It is the exclusive wheel of the "Ferrari Challenge" series and is manufactured using a completely new light metal alloy. The Challenge wheel is a technological highlight of the BBS range; the "flow-forming" or "rim-rolling" process developed for Formula 1 is also used in the production of the CH. During this treatment, the structure of the material is compressed even further - another advantage when it comes to strength, weight optimisation and safety.

Two-piece rims and wheels

At the beginning of the 1970s, when BBS launched the first multi-piece light alloy riml - the legendary "RS1" - it was a best-seller right from the start. Today, fans of these wheels have a bigger range of products to choose from: Five wheels from the current BBS programme are wheels assembled from two pieces using titanium bolts. When these wheels are damaged it is possible to replace only the rim or the center, which makes repairs less expensive. The current two-piece wheels are the RX II, RS II and RK II in different cross-spoke designs as well as the radial-spoke RW II and the plain RM II. The RS II includes another feature, developed and patented by BBS, that makes repairs even easier: a rim protector from extremely hard, polished stainless steel that covers the outer rim flange and protects it from damages.

Monobloc wheels

Apart from the new RZ and CH rims and wheels, there are four other monobloc BBS rims available. The RX, RX and RK types come with the typical BBS cross-spoke design. The RW, a radial spoke wheel, is also part of the BBS programme. RK and RC wheels are also available with a ball-polished surface. With this technique, that is exclusively used by BBS, a very hard and resistant surface and, at the same time, a elegantly brilliant finish are achieved.

From sporty compact to real racing cars: Among all the rim sizes and designs offered in the BBS product range, it doesn't take long until customers find their personal favourite. And the range offered will be enlarged even further. Today, wheels are available in sizes from compact 6x14 inch to maxi-sizes of 10x20 inch. Prices extent from around 350 DM to approximately 1500 DM
